Cross-Linked Enzyme Aggregate (CLEA) Preparation from Waste Activated Sludge

چکیده
Enzymes are used extensively as industrial bio-catalysts in various manufacturing and processing sectors. However, commercial enzymes expensive part due to the high cost of nutrient medium for biomass culture. Activated sludge (AS) is a waste product biological wastewater treatment consists microbial that degrades organic matter by producing substantial quantities hydrolytic enzymes. Recovering from AS therefore offers potential alternative conventional production techniques. A carrier-free, cross-linked enzyme aggregate (CLEA) was produced crude extract first time. major advantage CLEA combined immobilization, purification, stabilization into single step, thereby avoiding large amounts inert carriers final product. The contained variety demonstrated bio-conversion complex substrates.

Production of bacterial cellulose and enzyme from waste fiber sludge
BACKGROUND Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a highly crystalline and mechanically stable nanopolymer, which has excellent potential as a material in many novel applications, especially if it can be produced in large amounts from an inexpensive feedstock. Waste fiber sludge, a residue with little or no value, originates from pulp mills and lignocellulosic biorefineries. A high cellulose and low ligni...

Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) is an appropriate insulating material for high-voltage cables which has been widely used as electrical cable coating. In this study, Crushed XLPE wastes with different volume percentages (25, 50, and 75%) were used in hot mix asphalt (HMA) as a substitute for fine aggregates remained on sieve no. 8 whose size varies from 1.18 to 2.36 mm. The dynamic stiffness (i...

Resource reuse of waste-activated sludge (WAS) from a municipal wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) was introduced as raw material of microbial flocculant (MBF) preparation. With WAS samples of three concentrations, MBF preparation by various methods – including cation exchange resin (CER), CER-ultrasonication, CER-ultrasonication-CER, ultrasonication, ultrasonication-CER, and ultrasonication-CER...
متن کاملEffect of Sludge Pre-Treatment Techniques on the Biogas Production from Waste Activated Sludge
Introduction There is a significant and inevitable fact in Turkey which is the “sludge problem” generated from the wastewater treatment plants. There are many sludge disposal techniques currently applied in Turkey such as incineration, landfilling, composting, etc.; but the disposal of sludge with those conventional methods is difficult and expensive, often requiring over 50 per cent of the ope...

background sewage sludge (biosolids) is a byproduct of wastewater treatment that accumulates in large quantities. effective stabilization and disinfection of sewage sludge prior to land application are necessary to not only protect human health, but also to induce the public its benefits and safety. currently, many wastewater treatment plants in iran dispose great amounts of untreated sewage sl...
